Our Team

Edgar Martijn

My birthplace is Curaçao, one of the Dutch Antillean Islands. I came to the Netherlands to study medicine, and now
I am a retired social worker living here with my wife and daughter.
Growing up in a peaceful multilingual and multicultural society in the Caribbean, I always felt that people should live
together in harmony.
I enjoy working with PnR-T because it aims to raise awareness of the need for reconciliation between individuals,
peoples, and nations. We also seek for ways to make peace by emphasizing that humanity is one global family,
interconnected and interdependent.
When forgiveness, love and unity are our common concerns there is no place for enmity”.

Donna Martijn

I was born in South America, grew up in England, and live in The Netherlands. I am a wife and mum and have been
self-employed for the last 15 years.
As a person of African descent, I encountered a yearly tradition in The Netherlands which I experienced as
disturbing and discriminating. This tradition, plus my in-depth study of the transatlantic slave trade, opened my eyes
to the mistreatment of my ancestors and left me with feelings of burning anger. I realized that using anger was not
the best approach to resolving such issues and that if I want to see change, I should be willing to take the first steps
towards that.
With the support of my husband and other concerned citizens living in Europe, we started what was initially called
“Concerned People” and is now officially named “Peace and Reconciliation – Together.”
My desire is to work towards healing this history and addressing other areas of conflict. By being actively involved in
this work, I would like to create a more peaceful environment that makes it easier for all future descendants.

David Perry

I am a native American, born in Kittery, Maine, U.S.A. My wife is French, and we live together in Corbreuse, France.
After forty-two years of marriage, we are still happily married and the parents of four children and seven
grandchildren. I have enjoyed being and working as an English teacher.
Growing up in the south of the United States, I couldn’t understand why blacks and whites couldn’t live together
peacefully. As soon as I heard about PnR-T’s work, I knew I should be part of it.
I hope that PnR-T will raise awareness that reconciliation is not only possible but also necessary because our world
is in dire need of it.

Paul Michael Herman

I was born in Astoria, Queens, New York, USA, and have lived with my wife and children in Reykjavik, Iceland,
since 1998. We have three married daughters, one son, and one grandchild. I am an editor by profession.
Since 1973, I have worked continually as a missionary for the Unification Church (now Family Federation for World
Peace and Unification): 25 years in the USA and 26 years in Iceland, my mission country. During these years, I
participated in religious educational activities, interfaith work, and in many charitable projects.
In July 2021, I joined Peace and Reconciliation—Together because I want everyone to love each other and live in
peace and harmony. Through this organization, I believe I can help make that happen.
If there is righteousness in the heart, there will be beauty in the character. If there is beauty in the character, there
will be harmony in the home. If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation. If there is order in thenation, there will be peace in the world”

Albert Mobo

I was born in Cameroon and currently reside in Germany with my lovely wife. We have two daughters. I am a retired
master electronics technician.
Reconciliation between people of different religions, nationalities, and ethnic groups is a precondition for bringing
about world peace.
To achieve this goal, I believe we need appropriate tools, such as good listening skills, an empathic and
compassionate attitude in resolving conflicts, and knowing one’s history to better understand one’s destiny. PnR-T
is using these methods in the steps toward peace. I am part of PnR-T because I am sure we will find lasting
solutions by applying these methods together. Doing it alone will never get us there.

Christopher Ogbeide

I am from Nigeria and was born in the city of Irrua. Currently, I reside in Belgium with my wife and three sons.
I joined PnR-T to contribute toward building a world of peace.  As a lover of peace, I believe world peace can only
be achieved through dialogue and reconciliation between conflicting parties.
I desire to do all I can to remove the obstacles to peace and promote a way to guide humanity toward a world
wherein we can all live as one family in peace.
“Do not overrate what you have received, nor envy others. He who envies others does not obtainpeace of mind.”
-Siddhartha Gautama

Lili Ogbeide

I was born in Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Currently, Belgium has been my home. My husbandis Nigerian, and we are the happy parents of three boys (two young adults and one teenager.
I believe that Our Heavenly Parent is working to reconnect our original broken connection with Heaven, and it is our
responsibility to restore that connection and build a fraternal connection between our fellow humans.
I joined PnR-Ts because it helps people examine their past with the intention of healing old wounds through
constructive dialogue, understanding, and empathy.

Who are we?

In 2020 Donna Martijn felt a calling to address the pain and suffering caused by the Trans-Atlantic slave trade, who’s effects continue until today. She shared that calling with others and a small group came together under the name of Çoncerned People’. With the help of concerned citizens like you, living in several countries of the world, together we can make a difference in our society.

Due to the Covid pandemic, we have been mainly conducting online meetings, expanding our network of concerned persons. Since the summer of 2022 we have started networking by attending relevant meetings and events pertaining.
In June 2023, we registered as an official Foundation in the Netherlands under the name of ’Peace and Reconciliation Together’, as we choose to act more widely on the European stage.
